Awareness of the risk factors for pressure sores, such as immobility, moisture, and poor nutrition, is essential for anyone providing care to patients, particularly those who are elderly or have limited mobility.

While improved circulation, reduced risk of infection, and better sleep quality may be benefits of proper positioning and movement, the opposite is true when a patient is left in one position for too long, making pressure sores the primary concern.
